{Part One: Gas and Manipulation of Room Numbers}

1: Mystery Surrounding Room Numbers – Contradictions Raise Questions
Initial media reports, including those from Love FM, Channel 5 Belize, and Breaking Belize News, stated that the victims were found in Suite 101, which some sources referred to as the Bird of Paradise Suite. The identities of the victims were confirmed as:
Kaoutar Naqqad  (23) , Imane Mallah (24), Wafae Elarar (26 )
Authorities arrived at the scene at approximately 11:40 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, following reports of three unconscious individuals in Room 1011.
However, subsequent details revealed notable inconsistencies:
   •   Initial reports claimed the incident occurred in Suite 101, while other sources indicated that the women were staying in Suite 102.
   •   According to the hotel’s official website, Suite 101 was sold shortly after the resort was built, raising doubts about its availability as a rental room.
The actual room number remains uncertain, prompting questions about the accuracy of early reports and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

2: Contradictory Room Numbers Raise Suspicions
In one case, a media outlet reported the room number as “1001,” further deepening the confusion and fueling speculation about the potential deliberate manipulation of room numbers in official statements.
Notably, all media sources published nearly identical details, with little variation, raising concerns about the accuracy and consistency of the information being disseminated.
Updated Social Media Evidence
A TikTok video, later deleted, emerged as a crucial piece of evidence, providing clear proof that Room 102 was the actual location of the incident. The video explicitly displayed the room door, which matched official floor plans for Suite 102, contradicting earlier reports that focused on Suite 101.
Additionally, a witness in the video clearly stated that police officers were stationed outside Room 102, further undermining the credibility of official reports that insisted the incident took place in Suite 101.
These developments add further ambiguity to the case, necessitating a deeper investigation into the accuracy of circulating information.
Â

3: Visual Evidence Reinforces Contradictions in Incident Location
A separate Facebook video further supports these inconsistencies, showing crime scene tape surrounding both Suites 101 and 102.
Notably, the footage captures the door to Room 102 wide open, with visible police activity inside.
However, in later scenes, officers are seen standing near Room 101, as if attempting to shift public attention away from 102.
The footage suggests that San Pedro police may have intentionally diverted focus by positioning themselves prominently outside Room 101, despite visible ventilation efforts concentrated in Room 102. This ventilation is likely linked to carbon monoxide contamination, raising more questions about why media reports focused on Room 101 despite mounting evidence to the contrary.
Â

4: Visual Confirmation and Potential Deliberate Discrepancies
Visual evidence, including photographs and floor plans, confirms a precise match with Suite 102, reinforcing witness testimonies and exposing glaring contradictions in early official reports.
This discrepancy raises serious questions about the reliability of the information provided to the public from the very beginning of the incident.
Â

5: The Presumed Rationale – Intentional Manipulation of Information?
Growing concerns have emerged regarding the possible deliberate manipulation of suite numbers by either the hotel management or local authorities. The misreporting of the incident location may have served a strategic purpose—diverting attention away from Suite 102, thereby buying crucial time to tamper with or erase evidence.
Among the potential scenarios, modifications to the gas water heater or a ventilation system failure stand out as key factors that could have contributed to the incident. By directing media and investigative focus toward the wrong suite from the outset, certain parties may have aimed to evade strict forensic scrutiny and reduce pressure on responsible entities.

6: Suspicious Ties and Doubts About Investigation Integrity
Furthermore, potential connections between the hotel management and influential local figures raise deeper concerns about the transparency and integrity of initial police reports. There appears to be a systematic effort to reshape the media narrative in a way that downplays the severity of the incident, possibly to protect the hotel’s business interests or avoid legal accountability.
Given these circumstances, it is crucial to reassess all available evidence and conduct a thorough investigation into any potential manipulation of information to ensure that the truth is revealed without distortion or deception.

7: Incident Context and Location Details
Ambergris Caye & San Pedro
San Pedro, located on Ambergris Caye, is one of Belize’s top tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors annually with its marine attractions and vibrant nightlife. However, local authorities struggle to handle incidents involving tourists, as many deaths are often attributed to drug or alcohol overdoses—which may shift attention away from hotel liability or infrastructure failures.
Â

8: Royal Kahal Beach Resort
The Royal Kahal Beach Resort is owned by Royal Kahal Resort Ltd. and managed by Fairhaven Properties, a Canadian company led by Mike and Wendy Fairbairn.
The resort holds a “Certified Establishment” designation under Belize’s Fiscal Incentives Act, granting it tax exemptions and special tourism benefits. This status was officially approved by Prime Minister Johnny Briceño, raising questions about the level of influence and privileges granted to the establishment.
Â

9: Key Features of the Building
Instant Gas Water Heaters
Each suite is equipped with tankless water heaters, designed to provide hot water on demand. However, if ventilation is inadequate or gas combustion is incomplete, it can lead to the emission of carbon monoxide (CO)—a toxic, odorless gas—posing a potential health hazard within the residential units.
Â
10: Ventilation & Safety Flaws – Is the Resort Ignoring Carbon Monoxide Risks?
The resort relies on a VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioning system, which is designed for energy efficiency but recirculates air within the suite rather than replacing it with fresh air. This design flaw could result in a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide in the event of a gas leak, increasing exposure risks to this deadly gas.
Despite the resort’s claims that each suite is equipped with carbon monoxide detectors, a detailed review of virtual tours on the resort’s website and social media revealed no actual CO detectors in the units. Instead, the suites appear to be fitted only with Notifier FSP-951 photoelectric smoke detectors, which do not have the capability to detect carbon monoxide.
Â
Ventilation & Safety Flaws – Is the Resort Overlooking Carbon Monoxide Dangers?
This contradiction raises serious questions about the resort’s commitment to safety measures and the accuracy of the information provided to guests regarding hazard protection systems.
